PRISM TSE 24 MC Twin Screw Extruder

A floor standing, PRISM 24mm twin screw extruder, with horizontally split modular barrel and twin co-rotating, intermeshing 24mm screws, of process length 28:1 & 40:1 L/D. The extruder is supplied complete with a variable speed drive system with PLC-based control system with touch screen interface.

This unit is ideal for small batch or laboratory work. The base includes an integral barrel cooling unit

• AC flux vector variable speed drive system (0 – 1,000 rpm), rated at 11 kW
• modular barrel fitted with replaceable liner inserts
• top barrel half is modular with barrel sections in 8:1 L/D and 4:1 L/D sections
• barrel insert material D2 (through hardened and nitrided)
• barrel layout to include side feed and top port blocks
• multiple electric heat/cool temperature controlled zones up to 400C, with self contained barrel cooling unit
• set of shafts fully configured with a suitable agitator configuration
• shaft material EN16 (through hardened), screw material D2 (through hardened)
• two atmospheric vent adaptors for barrel top ports
• melt temperature/pressure measurement upstream of die (0 - 100 bar)
• multi-hole strand die or face-cut die options
• extruder workbench stand incorporating main electrical panel
• PLC control and data acquisition system, with 'Touch Screen' operating interface
• toolkit
